Poppies Popping Up Everywhere

Seems like in next to no time we are cooking with gas.  The level of interest in our rather exciting little project has escalated beyond my early expectations and I am looking forward to seeing some completed poppies arrive on my doorstep.

There are around 19 weeks until the first milestone. We need at least 500 Poppies and we are sitting at around 100 now … So looking for another 400 plus.  Thats a minimum of 21 poppies a week … Not such a big ask.  More would be wonderful. So please feel free to spread the word to all your crafty friends and family.  Remember … Poppies can be knitted, stitched, crocheted or felted.

And please don’t forget to fill in your submission form to send along with your finished poppies so we can keep tabs on contributions.

About 5000 Poppies

The 5000 Poppies Project is a community tribute of respect and remembrance for our servicemen and women, their families and their communities. Created in 2013 by sisters in law Lynn Berry and Margaret Knight in honour of their fathers service in WWII, the project has been closely aligned with the Centenary of Anzac 2014 to 2018, and has consisted of a number of small and large scale installations made from handcrafted poppies from many thousands of contributors from all over the world.

Hi Jackie … seems to me if you type 5000 poppies in the search bar at the top of facebook … you should come up with the group and then just click on ask to join. I can’t do it myself from here because its my group … but that should work hopefully.
Let me know if it doesn’t work.
