Wishing all of our Poppy Friends a Wonderful Christmas

What an incredibly eventful year we have had at 5000 poppies.  What started out as a tiny tribute to our fathers has turned into something bigger and more special than we ever could have imagined … and the takeup has been amazing to say the very least.  We are now well over 6,000 poppies and counting.  I have had a huge couple of weeks workwise, plus dare I mention Christmas preparations … and so poppies have taken a bit of a backseat, but I am looking forward to catching up on poppy admin after Christmas when things settle down … so please be patient if you are waiting on an email from me … In the meantime … Marg and I wish you a very safe, happy Christmas filled with family and friends and hopefully a bit of relaxation … and we look forward to resuming our poppy exploits in 2014 for our 2015 display.

About 5000 Poppies

The 5000 Poppies Project is a community tribute of respect and remembrance for our servicemen and women, their families and their communities. Created in 2013 by sisters in law Lynn Berry and Margaret Knight in honour of their fathers service in WWII, the project has been closely aligned with the Centenary of Anzac 2014 to 2018, and has consisted of a number of small and large scale installations made from handcrafted poppies from many thousands of contributors from all over the world.

    Hello,

One of our knitting group passed onto to me your flyer about this campaign.  Her daughter belongs to the Vic Knitting Guild.  Can we join you with our share here in Perth? It’s a fabulous idea.

    many thanks

I can send you a pdf of a poster that you can print locally and display if you wish.
