    5000 Poppies Great Lakes.
Our first poppy making workshop and the Official Launch of 5000 Poppies Great Lakes is on ANZAC Day 2014 from 1pm to 3pm at St Alban’s Anglican Church Hall, St Albans Place, Forster NSW. Starting in May we will be holding poppy making workshops on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at St Alban’s Hall from 10am to 12 noon. We already have around 300 poppies and are aiming at the full 5000 for ANZAC Day 2015 to be placed at the Tuncurry Commemorative Services. The local RSL Sub Branch also wants us to line the paths to the War Memorial in February 2015 for the rededication service of the refurbished Monument.
This project has taken off in a big way in Forster & Tuncurry with lots of community support.
Many thanks for starting this project and we will be sending you some of our poppies before ANZAC Day 2015.

Hi, Could you tell me if any of the RSL’s in Brisbane are interested in poppies
I live on the Redcliffe Peninsula and am part of the knitting group that has sent you poppies but some of members wish to provide a local RSL if possible.
    Thanks Maureen Ellis

      Good morning Maureen.
I am sorry … I am not aware of any RSL’s that are doing the project but you could make a wreath and take it to the local RSL on Anzac Day or
Remembrance Day if you wish … I am sure they would be delighted.
      Kind regards,
      Lynn Berry

      Hi Narelle,
Yes, we have one today at 12.00 until 2.00 p.m. and then 2nd Monday in Febrary, March and April.
Keep you eye on the blog for more details.
      Lynn

any poppy knitting groups in south west Sydney?

    • 5000poppies says:

      Hi Alison,
Not that I am aware of … not sure if you are a member of the facebook group … but it’s a good way to connect with people in your local area making poppies.
      Warm regards,
      Lynn Berry

  7. Carolanne Collins says:

I would love to contribute and get my students involved as well. How do I access patterns?
    Cheers

  8. Miriam king says:

Is there a workshop near Liverpool?

    • 5000poppies says:

      Hi Miriam,
I am assuming you mean Liverpool NSW.
I am not aware of any workshops in NSW
Are you a member of the facebook group? That is a great way to get people together to make, although it’s getting rather late now.
I am currently doing a first call for poppies this week. With the bulk expected by end Feb and the last by mid March (latest date 15 March).
      Warm regards,
      Lynn Berry
